| Description | Description: This Myanmar betel box is made employing the Yuante technique or scraping design of Chiang Mai or the hailai technique around the bottom edge and on the side and top parts of the cover. It is coated with black rak to form the background and scraped in shallow lines to be filled with some minerals to create red, orange or green effects. Sometimes the scraping design is of a deity riding a horse or a deity dancing in the sky. The top is also scraped to form a design. |
