The scope of this study is the "Residency on the Road" column (thi-phak-bon- sen-thang) in the Osotho magazine during the years 2017 - 2018. The concept applied in this study is the concept of Roongaroon Teekhachunhatean (2009), adapted from the concept of Jeffrey Leach and Michael Short (1981). The study found that there are 4 types of language characteristics as follows: 1. Lexical Categories: The authors of the accommodation reviews mainly used words that describe desirable properties of the accommodations, followed by the use of English transliteration. Then using words that have a meaning about relaxation, color terms, words that express emotion, verbs that show perception, words that have a decorative domain and the use of words to emphasize respectively. 2. Grammatical Categories: It was found that most of the sentences were statements. As it relates to the purpose of providing information about accommodation as one of the principles of accommodation reviews. Next were the offer sentences. This is in line with the purpose of the article to get the reader interested in and deciding on the accommodation. Question sentences were found the least because they do not correspond to the nature of a review. 3. Figure of Speech: The comparative style was mainly found. But considering the statistics of the appearance, the splendid language is not the prominent feature in the accommodation reviews. 4. Context and Cohesion: The context of communication that affects the creation of the text is that the Osotho magazine serves both the mass media and the promotion of the work of government agencies.Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) used to advertise and publicize tourist attractions to develop and promote tourism. With accommodation considered part of the tourism industry, accommodation articles therefore serve not only to provide information about accommodation but to promote marketing for the accommodation business. The cohesion made the content of correlation. There were 5 characteristics. 1.Reference 2. Substitution 3. Ellipsis 4. Conjunction 5. Lexical Cohesion. The conjunction to addition data is the kind that found mainly. |
